Juried Art Exhibition
The 2009 Juried Art Exhibition accompanying Encounter 09 | Art in Action will award honors and cash prizes to three "Distinguished Artists", who will be announced at the Encounter.
Exhibition Dates: February 26–28, 2009
Eligibility
Application is open to all artists. Registration and attendance at Encounter 09 is mandatory for all winners. Previous winners are eligible. Artists who work in all visual mediums are eligible to apply, but should review the guidelines and application requirements carefully.Application
To apply, download the application and follow all instructions. Incomplete or incorrectly submitted applications will not be considered.
The application deadline is Monday, January 26, 2009. Submissions received after this date will not be considered.
Encounter 09 Juried Art Exhibition Application
Review
All submissions will be reviewed by an anonymous panel of industry professionals based on the quality of submitted work samples and supporting materials. Notifications will be made by Monday, February 9, 2009. Panelist comments may be made available to applicants after the conference.Requirements
- Application form must be filled out correctly and completely.
- Entries may relate to the theme, but selections will not be limited by adherence to the theme.
- Actual work, including frame, should not measure larger than 30"x 30"x 30" (some case-by-case flexibility).
- If you are selected, you must arrive early with your work to help hang the show on Thursday morning 10AM, February 26th (or send someone with your work to help in your place.) If your work cannot be physically brought with you to the conference, please contact us to make alternative arrangements.
- All artists selected must pick up their work and participate in de-installation at Saturday evening, February 28th after the performance concludes. If you must leave conference early, please arrange for someone to pick up your work for you and help with de-installation. No work may be taken home early and NO WORK WILL BE RETURNED TO ARTISTS AFTER THE ENCOUNTER!
- No A/V equipment is available for multimedia installations, nor pedestals for sculpture. Artists must provide all necessary equipment for exhibition of their piece.
- All work must be submitted via email. IAM is not staffed to handle applications or work samples submitted by mail.
